Pruett Architects 'web ship' launched
After eight months of brainstorming, planning, design and development, we have launched our maiden voyage on the vast internet seas, and things should never be quite the same.
We hope.
That's because we realize that online marketing is an indispensable tool in today's business world. Browsing through websites and tagging web pages is one way people do their shopping and research.
Still, we wanted our site to reflect us and our philosophy. We didn't want a cookie-cutter web presence, nor a design template that can be found everywhere.
We sought a simple site with clean lines, easily navigable, with pertinent information handy for site visitors. And we wanted pictures that speak at least a thousand words about our work.
In other words, we sought clear sailing on the Internet.
We invite you to visit www.pruettarchitects.com and let us know what you think.

1930s residence work is showcased by AR
Architectural Record has chosen a residential project by John Pruett Architects to include
in an online "Residential Showcase" gallery.
The renovation project is described as a "contemporary south-facing garden room addition to a 1930s era residence."
The house is in Midtown Memphis. (It also happens to be John Pruett's home.)

From the outside in
Occupying the northwest corner of the area known as the Fairgrounds, at Central and East Parkway, sits a historic Memphis City Schools building housing Fairview Junior High.
And it needed rehabbing.
District administrators decided to begin with the outside of the building - the skin. We quickly realized the first phase of the project called for new windows and extensive cleaning of masonry and mortar. The result returned the brick to its original color and gave the building an updated look while keeping faith with the original design.
