- Residential Time and space are vital to the design of a home. We evaluate neighborhood, era, nearby housing styles and footprints while considering use of interior space for contemporary needs. We have designed new homes in new areas and new homes in historic areas. We have guided renovations, restorations and rehabs. For us, context is paramount! For instance, in preservation districts even the pitch of the roof is an important design decision.
- Civic From municipal/government buildings, to university structures and primary and secondary school buildings — any civic project brings its own set of challenges and opportunities. We are ever mindful of construction cost and pride ourselves on solving every problem through teamwork and partnership.
- Commercial When it comes to designing space for businesses, we emphasize work first. Commercial space must permit the ebb and flow, the essence of commerce and labor, without abandoning style and nuance.

FOCUS ON CONTEXT
When we consider a project we tell ourselves the first thing is to “go to school” on the existing context and the ideas and needs of the client.
What is the building's physical locale? What vision does the client have? How can the various aesthetics incorporate an appropriateness of environmental context?
Such questions solve all the riddles. We gaze through the metaphorical windows, considering all the questions — as opposed to approaching a project with a pre-conceived style or building plan based on category or personal taste.
