A modern residence located in a park-like setting in the heart of Midtown Memphis, the new single family home was constructed in a large urban infill area of the Evergreen Historic District where large tracts had been leveled to prepare for an interstate pathway which later was abandoned.  The exterior design is contextually compatible with the surrounding early nineteenth century district architecture utilizing a raised wrap around front porch to serve as a welcoming neighborhood entrance while also functioning as a transitional indoor/outdoor privacy buffer to the adjacent street corner.

The interior of the home features an open contemporary floor plan with views to adjacent surrounding landscape settings and a two story glass south facing facade visually blends the lofted family room and open plan kitchen with a private walled garden, swimming pool, and trellised deck.

The building was the recipient of the 1992 Memphis Heritage President’s Award for best new house in a historic district.
